April (26th)  The web site has been long overdue for an update, through work and other commitments.  However, at long last I'm able to add a few photos and describe what's been going on.

The neck mechanism is now nearing completion, with two axes of movement operational.  There is a large quarter-scale servo either side of the neck which operates a control rod to tilt the neck to the left or right.  On top of the lower neck section is another large servo which rotates the head around a central axis, with a 180-degree swing either side.  All the moving parts run in ball races.

The final stage of this assembly is to add a third servo which will tilt the head up and down so that DAVE can nod.  This will run on a horizontal axis through the two bearings which you can see already fitted to the upper block.
